A little lost in the fort of Egyptian cotton sheets?  What really distinguishes them from regular 1500 thread count sheets? Those of you who believe there are more important things in life to spend your money on than bed sheets, could probably not care less about how many threads there are in the fabric you sleep on every night. You will most likely also never have an extremely good night's sleep, where you bed feels more like a soft and fluffy cloud, rather than that of a polyester-coated giant sponge.

These sheets are made from a certain type of cotton that originates from (surprise) Egypt. These cotton plants have longer fibers, which give the final fabric a softer feel than that of your regular 1500 thread count sheets. The general assumption is that the higher the thread count the softer the sheet. A higher thread count is also associated with a more comfortable feeling, since the sheets become more breathable.
